Review: Younique Natural Mineral Make Up and Giveaway

I recently received the opportunity to try out some of the eye pigments and primer from Younique for review. As you will see, I am not a makeup artist! My daughter and I had a lot of fun playing around with the make up and I took a lot of pictures. I tried to put the best of them in this post so that you might get an idea of how great this make up is.

First of all about the company. Younique is a newer company. It is less than a year old. It was founded by brother-sister team Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft. It's mission is to validate, empower, uplift, and help build self esteem in women around the world. It is the first direct-sales company to market mainly through social media.

Younique offers several wonderful collections, or you can buy
each product separately. Colorful eye shadows, blushes, concealers, lip glosses, as well as moisturizers, brushes, rose water and 3D eyelashes are some of the terrific products that are available to purchase from Younique.

Now for my review. First, let me tell you that I really like this make up and definitely recommend it.  I only tried a few of the Younique products, but would love to try them all.

First off I applied the primer, which is 100% natural, free of parabens, oils, synthetic fragrances, and cheap fillers,  to my daughters eyelids. Then, of course she applied it to mine. It went on silky smooth and left no greasy feeling behind. My eyelids felt so smooth that I was tempted to do my whole face. I refrained, because I was only testing eye shadow and it seemed a waste of primer!

I had several shades of pigment to choose from for our eyes. The pigment is 100% natural, chemical-free, mineral-based pigment powders, free of talc, oils, preservatives, perfumes, synthetic dyes, and parabens. On Serenity I used two different pigments. Innocent, which is a creamy off white color, and Flirty which is a light purple color.

Unfortunately the colors don't show up well in the pictures I took with my phone. The colors in person are so much more vibrant and lovely! They look pale in the pictures. The colors really brought out her beautiful eyes, in my opinion. She loved them! She wants to try out all the different colors of pigment now.

She tried doing my makeup for me, but it didn't turn out so well. She is not used to using a brush and still doesn't quite know where to apply make up. So I kind of looked clownish. So those pictures are not on here. I did reapply it and those pics are on here.

On me we used three colors. Innocent as the base, with Flirty and the darker Awestruck. It turned out pretty good. Then I tried using a damp brush and it turned out even better! I was amazed at how dramatic it looked when using the damp brush. You can have two different looks using the same pigment! One for day, and one for evening wear, if you'd like. The colors are absolutely amazing and vivid. I cannot wait to try out the other colors I have on hand.

The pictures of me below are all after I used the damp brush. The sparkles all over my face were leftover from Serenity's attempt at doing my make up. As I said, I am no makeup artist, so don't expect anything spectacular! Other than the wonderful                colors of the Younique products. Please feel free to contact me if you would be interested in purchasing some of these wonderful products!
